I am missing Mongolia again
My little lilac has successfully went on its own from my house to Changi Airport and back to school on 29th September 2007.
I just sent my Mongolian friend at the airport at 8am. Was supposed to meet her yesterday to tour Singapore. Arranged to meet her at 3pm but i waited till 5pm (I have never waited so long for anyone since 10 years ago...) and still no news of her. She has no handphone and i can only assume that she lost my number or something must have happened to her. I was so worried the whole day that i called the hotel almost every hourly interval. It was just that close that i would actually drive down to the hotel to wait for her. Or even better--- called the police. Ha.
At 12 midnight, i finally got her in her hotel room. (The telephone operator already recognised me by then haha) I heaved a sigh of relief and thought i would be very angry with her for not even trying to inform me of the sudden change of plans. Thankfully, i did not. Somehow, i was more relieved than angry. I was relieved that nothing horrible happened to her. I was amazed at my own reaction too haha. In normal circumstances, i would have turned MAD and furious. Well, people do change i guess and i pray that God would continue to remind me WWJD.
Anyway, because i did not get to meet her yesterday and her flight is this morning, i decided to go all the way to airport to send her off. I was actually abit worried that i would miss her at the aiport too... Thank God i finally found her.
We had a good 1 hour of catch up and exchanging gifts... She was telling me how things have been in Mongolia. The worksite that we went to in June has like 70 houses up since we left. She was also sharing with me how the home owners were missing us and even sent their regards and thanksgiving in saying how much they have been blessed by our presence. The family said something like : "Thanks for making our life better now..." I was so touched when i heard that, though we seriously didn't do much, i am sure our presence made a difference, be it physically or emotionaly.
My friend was also sharing with me how my mongolian good friend has been. The more she share about his updates, the more i wish i can fly back witih her to Mongolia to visit this friend!
One thing i must mention about our conversation. I was just asking her if she knows whether this friend of mine is born deaf or had some sickness when he was young. What she told me really shook my heart-- there was this batch of babies who were born in a particular hospital who had the same issue as him. This happened because the medical staff there then used the wrong medicine on the babies...! So this particular group of babies of his age are all deaf...It was really heartwrenching to hear that. I feel so sad. I wish he could talk. I wish he could hear. Nevertheless i am glad he knows God.
Oh no... i am beginning to miss Mongolia again. Wish i will have a chance to go back again in June 2008.
Wishing...

My little lilac

It's been 10 days since i drove my little lilac around. My friends kept asking me to blog about my driving experience. Yesterday, i was sharing with them about some incidents on the road and they were laughing untill some of them teared...
Seriously, i dunno wat is so funny. hmmm.. it may sound funny but actually it was scary. Haha. Well, what they found so funny was the way i was describing what happened on one morning to school in a thunderstorm. There are alot of bends on the way to school. In fact, it is ALL bending roads... so what happened was, the car beside me suddenly splashed a whole big puddle of water on my windscreen such that i could not see anything at all! How then can i follow the bend?! Aiyo... I was really taken aback at theat time, thank GOd i kept my cool and drove slower to avoid hitting any cars near me... haha. I was telling my cell group: next time, i must make sure there are no cars beside me when i drive in a thunderstorm. Then they all looked so amused and laugh again. But i am serious and i still mean it... haha. Yeah not just this incident... little lilac has successfully caused jams on the way to carparks (because i was too near the gantry... haha.), drove in lanes where no vehicles dare to follow behind, received blessings of flashes and horns from other drivers... haha. I bet from now onwards, drivers would avoid any lilac swift they see on the road because of the fear my little lilac had instilled in them! So beware... don't come anywhere 100 m around my little lilac. :)
Yours truly...
