This is the day that the Lord has made
I didn't really sleep well yesterday night i guess... must be the hazel nut latte... hmmm...
Aniwaez, today i woke up and happily prepared myself to go to church. I took the usual bus to church and lo and behold! I passed by my school... sigh... you know how that feels? The fact that you couldn't even escape that school on sundays!? HA. I just simply close my eyes to pretend i am sleeping, so that it doesn't feel like i'm passing by the school... well, you can call that escapism i guess.. haha.
Well, anyway, though today is my birthday, i didn't have any special plans. After service, i stayed back for worship band practice till 6pm. Then i travelled to orchard and met up with my JC classmates, had dinner at swensons, and the firehouse icecream which is on the house, bought some stuff and that's all. HA. SImple, but nice day.
Upon reaching my house, my friend called me on my handphone. It so happens that this friend wants to pass me my bdae present and so we met up at the traffic light near my house. HA. Interesting huh? haha... but yah, i am really thankful for that thought. Thankful.
WHat are some special events that happened in my life today? Hmm... let me think.
First, i am thankful for all those who smsed me just after midnight to send me their best wishes. I am glad that my name appeared at that moment in their minds. : )
Secondly, as i was taking bus to church, a friend called me on my HP. I answered the phone and all i heard was a birthday music piece... I couldn't help but kept smiling when i was on the phone... That was very sweet my friend, thanks for calling me. :)
Thirdly, the people whom i least expected to know my birthday actually came to me to wish me happy birthday and send smses to me. I seriously have not seen their name appear on my handphone for a long time, and yet when i see their name appear with the message that arrives, i knew and was touched to know that they still remember me. Hee...
Fourth, i am really thankful to God for bringing me back to look through all the past memories where He was so faithful to me.
He brought me back to my first encounter with Him, and reminded me how my life was radically changed.
He brought me through my A'level memories and reminded me how I would not have been able to make it to university if He had not seen me through the troubled times when i nearly lost all hope in pressing on because of a family crisis.
He brought me back to the university days and helped me to see His hand at work in my life throughout the four years, what i would have become if i had not got to know HIm better trough serving in campus crusade for Christ.
He reminded me how faithful He has been in seeing me through my honours year and the miracle that He had done in my life which i still stand today to testify.
He reminded me how he has brought me through the recent practicum dayz, how i could be so at peace in the midst of such stress and turmoil that my fellow peers went through.
Last but not least, He showed me how He CAN, and WILL continue to be faithful in seeing me through my current struggles in school. For all these... I am thankful to God.
Thought of the day: Birthday is just another day if we simply try to have fun and make merry... what matters most is that this very day, you remember and thank the Person who created you many years ago today, as well as the person who acted as a medium to which you appeared on this earth that very day.
